Our original Timmies (Downsview) closed Thursday. (Steve Mackie let me know). With the Esso Timmies next door being upgraded and reopened coupled with the nice new Middle Sackville one….I guess that ended it. There was no drive through which did not help matters either. I have a lot of old memories from this place. I remember stopping in with my Dad on the way to baseball games and getting a bowtie while he got a coffee (in his yellow Timmies plastic mug). I also remember heading there after a Triumph concert…ears still ringing! Kinda sad, but shit happens. Now, how are we going to get to 10 locations? *That* is the question!

The Staples is also closing and I’ve heard so is Dooley’s. Sobeys is apparently tearing down all those buildings. Not sure what is supposed to replace them.
I knew Staples was gonzo…Dooley’s may end up where the old Goodlife was…that is the word on the street!
That Tim’s had more staying power than the Pizza Delight did (where the RBC now is), but it’s still sad to see it go. I wonder how many Sackville Drive businesses have been there longer than 20 years.
I can think of a few…sounds like a good quiz question to me!
That’s is the strangest thing i have ever seen…….a CLOSED Tim’s? Must be the end of times!
Hahaha! All part of a restructuring I am sure!
That Tim’s is an institution! Sad to see it close…
All these Tim’s…. Can Sackville sustain a proper cafe? Not to dis’ Tim Horton’s; it is what it is, but the closest thing to a cafe is Avodah.
I agree with you 100%. I think a proper cafe in a good location would do pretty well around here.
